ESIC Selection Process

• No Guaranteed Selection: Merely submitting an application and meeting the eligibility criteria listed in the advertisement does not guarantee selection.
• Choice of Training Location: Candidates applying for Trade Apprentice (Ex-ITI) can choose to train either at Kolkata or Ranchi, and they will be considered accordingly when preparing the Merit List.
• Merit List Criteria: The Merit List for selection is based on the marks scored in the Qualifying Examination. The criteria differ depending on the type of apprenticeship:
• Calculation of Marks: If the final aggregate grades/marks are not mentioned in the certificate or mark sheet, the average marks of all semesters/years will be considered.
• Equivalent Percentage: Candidates with CGPA or other grades should indicate equivalent percentage as per university/institute norms. If there are no conversion norms, it will be calculated as described.
• Date of Qualification: The date of declaration of the final semester/year result is considered the date of acquiring the Degree/Diploma in Engineering qualification.
• Document Verification: Candidates will be called for document verification based on merit. They must submit original documents and self-attested photocopies of educational qualifications, age, caste/PH (if applicable), and other specified documents. Failure to produce original documents or meet eligibility criteria may result in rejection.
• Age Seniority in Case of Tie: If there is a tie in total marks, the older candidate will be given preference.
• Medical Examination: Shortlisted candidates must undergo a medical examination conducted by a GRSE Medical Officer and be declared “Medically Fit” before engagement.
• Police Verification: Candidates must submit a Police Verification Report for their residential address area from a competent authority at the time of joining for training. Failure to submit this report may lead to the cancellation of engagement.
• Posting Location: Selected candidates can be posted to any Unit/Department of the Company for the Apprenticeship Training.
• Contract Execution: Selected candidates are required to execute a contract with the respective authority as per the Apprenticeship Act.
