General Instruction
- Candidates must meet educational qualifications before joining INA by June 2024.
- Failure to meet educational criteria disqualifies candidates from joining INA
- Only one application can be submitted by each candidate.
- Selection based on normalized marks from qualifying degrees.
- Shortlisting for SSB interviews depends on academic performance.
- Candidates must inform Indian Navy of their final degree results.
- SSB recommended candidates must undergo medical examinations.
- Change of SSB center is not allowed.
- AC 3 tier rail fare is admissible for SSB interviews.
- Training leads to a Short Service Commission, initially for 10 years, extendable by 4 years.
- The probation period for officers is two years.
- Probation begins with the grant of the rank of Sub Lt.
- If officers withdraw from training or resign during the probationary period, they must refund training costs.
- Candidates who fail flying training (Pilot/NAOO) will not be retained in service.
- Merit lists are based on SSB marks, medical clearance, and availability of vacancies.
Training:
- Rank: Candidates will be inducted into the rank of Sub Lieutenant.
- Marital Status: Only unmarried candidates are eligible for training.
- Marriage During Training: If a candidate is found to be married or marries while under training, they will be discharged from service. They are also liable to refund the full pay and allowances received and other expenses incurred by the government.
- Voluntary Withdrawal/Resignation: If an officer voluntarily withdraws from initial training or resigns during the probationary period, they may be required to refund the cost of training, either in whole or in part, as determined by the government. They must also refund all money received as pay and allowances from the government, along with interest calculated at the rate in force for government loans.
- Failure in Flying Training: Candidates who fail to qualify in flying training (Pilot/NAOO) will not be retained in service.
