SELECTION PROCESS
- Take GATE-2023: Start by appearing for the GATE-2023 exam.
- GATE Score Shortlisting: CIL will pick candidates based on their GATE-2023 scores for specific jobs.
- Tie-Breaking: If scores are tied, they’ll look at your academic marks and age to decide.
- GATE-2023 Scores Only: Only GATE-2023 scores matter. Scores from other years won’t work.
- NOC for Current Employees: If you’re working in a government job or PSU, provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) when you apply. Update it if you get hired elsewhere.
- Document Check & Medical Exam: Those shortlisted will go through document verification and a medical exam.
- Job Offer: If you clear everything, you’ll get a job offer.
1. Service Agreement Bond:
- You’ll need to work with CIL for at least 60 months after joining.
- You’ll sign a bond for ₹3 Lakhs plus GST when you start. This money will be deducted monthly from your salary. You get it back (without interest) after completing 60 months of service.
2. Medical Examination (IME):
- Before joining, you’ll have to go through a medical check-up by CIL’s doctors. They follow specific rules, and their decision is final.

3. How to Apply:
- To apply, visit CIL’s website, go to the “Career with CIL” section, and click on “Jobs at Coal India.” Choose the job that matches your qualifications and eligibility.
4. Documents to Upload:
- When applying online, you’ll need to upload clear copies of:
- A recent passport-size photo (not older than 3 weeks).
- Your signature in black ink.
- Your matriculation/secondary school certificate to prove your age.

- If you’re a resident of Jammu and Kashmir, follow the prescribed format for domicile certificates.
- If you’re currently employed in the government, semi-government, public sector, or an autonomous body, obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your current employer.
