BIS Scientist B Recruitment 2023 Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility for Engineering/Technology:
- Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with 60% marks (50% for SC/ST).
- Valid GATE score from 2021, 2022, or 2023, valid until November 3, 2023.
Eligibility for Agriculture:
- Bachelor’s in Agriculture.
- Master’s with 60% marks in specific sub-disciplines.
- Valid ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF(Ph.D) – 2023 score card.
Age Limit:
- Maximum 30 years as of November 3, 2023, for both categories.
Application Process:
- Candidates must apply online from 14.10.2023 to 03.11.2023 through the BIS website
- You are not allowed to make application through any other modes you have to through online only kindly take note of that

Service Conditions:
- Surety Bond: Upon appointment as Scientist-B, candidates must provide a surety bond as specified by the Bureau. This bond commits the candidate to serve the Bureau for a minimum of three years. Leaving the service before three years without proper permission will require reimbursement of six months’ emoluments.
- Probation: The probation period for this position is 2 years.
- Service Benefits: Leave, LTC, and medical benefits are provided, along with leave encashment for 15 days per year in accordance with BIS guidelines and Central government rules.
- Posting: Candidates can be posted anywhere in India.
